Learn to lead a small team! During a 2 week period of your choice, try out an innovative new methodology for keeping it fun to collect and analyze litter clean up data in your school or neighborhood. Share feedback and ideas for litter prevention!

Participants will have access to live online meetings, step-by-step instructions, course resources and recorded videos. Participants will submit collected data, feedback, and ideas through the Thinkific course portal.

No previous leadership or research experience is necessary. We especially encourage participation in our target neighborhoods (Columbia Heights, Deanwood, Garfield Heights/Buena Vista, Trinidad, and Washington Highlands)!

This short service learning opportunity is the first step toward a pilot of a new action research project led by Recycle Leaders in partnership with Ward 8 Woods Conservancy in support of the DC Trash Free Communities grant funded by the DC Department of Energy & Environment.

Youth leaders (<18) need to sign up with an adult sponsor. High school students can earn (4+) community service hours. Sponsoring educators can earn (4) continuing education credits.
